Thomas looks at one of Cherry’s most unique keyboards: the Cherry G80-9009. It’s a terminal keyboard custom designed for Reuters, specifically for market trading. Signature traits include the large amount of (oftentimes very colorful) buttons with special functions, and it additionally comes with a large LCD screen in the middle that can show macros and comes with a calculator function. Its unique colorway has been used for several group buys of custom keycaps that were designed to emulate it.
He reviewed this old thing some years ago, but now, he’s actually got it functioning with a PC. That means he can properly evaluate the G80-9009 and its Cherry MX Clear switches.
