Review: Das Keyboard 5Q, More Of A Dashboard Than A Keyboard

In this week’s episode, Thomas looks at the Das Keyboard 5Q, an API open source crowdfunded keyboard from Kickstarter. The campaign surrounding this keyboard was successful, but encountered a lot of problems. This particular keyboard fell out of favor with its former owner.

Intended as almost more of a dashboard than a keyboard, the Das Keyboard 5Q comes with unique features in terms of programmability, and also uses Omron’s Gamma Zulu switches, which are inspired by the Romer-G design that the company developed in conjunction with Logitech.

You can snag a Das Keyboard 5Q directly from Das Keyboard or on Amazon. Be sure to visit and subscribe to Thomas’ YouTube channel for reviews, guides, and more.
